Technical Support Engineer (Commercial Chiller Equipment) - Remote

Location: Virtual remote role based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States; travel to work sites required as needed, up to 10–15%.

Annual base salary: $97,406.66–$135,834.99.

What you will do

• Provide technical service support to Trane Field Service Agencies and assist technicians with remote chiller troubleshooting.
• Support chiller startups, commissioning, servicing, training, and mission-critical customer needs, including occasional work outside normal business hours.
• Analyze chiller data, service reports, and field failure trends to support data-driven decisions and product improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis, defect resolution, quality audits, design reviews, and quality improvement projects.
• Create and review Help Center solutions, product literature, service communications, and training materials.
• Act as a subject matter expert for chiller components or applications and collaborate with quality, product development, and other functional teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of HVAC equipment and systems servicing experience preferred.
• Professional training on various Trane equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex refrigeration and electrical systems and apply temperature, pressure, thermodynamic, and basic electrical principles.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while managing multiple high-priority customer cases.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, handheld computers, and Remedy support-case software.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, meet the physical demands of HVAC service routines, and work extended hours occasionally.
