Industrial Field Service Technician (HVAC)

Location: Remote field role for the United States; residence required within a 30–60 minute commute of the assigned territory surrounding Columbia, South Carolina. Travel within a two-hour radius is required, with occasional overnight travel typically limited to 20 nights per year.

Salary: Up to $37/hour, geographically adjusted based on knowledge, skills, experience, and cost of living.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and overhauls on compressors, dryers, and compressed air systems.
• Diagnose VSD drives, control circuitry, electrical systems, and refrigeration equipment.
• Provide technical consultation on system performance, reliability, and optimization.
• Complete service findings, recommendations, warranty forms, start-up documentation, work orders, and parts returns.
• Maintain customer relationships through clear technical communication and consultative support.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and attend technical training at the Air Academy.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of multi-craft experience in HVAC, electrical diagnostics, industrial maintenance, or OEM field service.
• Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, control circuitry, and electrical schematics.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications such as EPA, HVAC, or Electrical are preferred.
• Ability to manage workloads independently, meet deadlines, use computer systems, complete work orders, and order parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments with varying temperatures.
• Valid driver's license, fluent English, required local residency, and the ability to park a branded company service vehicle at the residence without restrictions.

Nice to have

• EPA, HVAC, or electrical certification.
