Occupational Health Licensed Practical Nurse (Occupational Health)

Location: Akron, Ohio, United States; onsite

Pay range: $23.00–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Collect medical histories, vital signs, immunization information, laboratory specimens, and related documentation.
• Assist providers during examinations, fitness-for-duty assessments, work-injury monitoring, and patient reassessments.
• Perform phlebotomy, basic laboratory testing, wound care, dressing changes, injections, vaccinations, and prescription refill processing as directed.
• Support occupational health programs, including injury reports, workers’ compensation documentation, referrals, authorizations, wellness programs, safety events, and immunization clinics.
• Maintain accurate medical records, confidential files, HIPAA compliance, office workflows, supplies, equipment, and sanitary clinical areas.
• Welcome patients, schedule appointments, answer calls and messages, handle correspondence and forms, and coordinate administrative and facility needs.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in nursing or an equivalent degree.
• At least 3 years of experience as an LPN/LVN in a hospital, medical clinic, or comparable setting.
• LPN or LVN certification, phlebotomy certification, and CPR/BLS certification are required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, practical nursing procedures, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Computer experience and knowledge of electronic health record systems; Athena, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365 experience are relevant.

Nice to have

• Prior occupational health experience.
• Experience with office procedures, confidential files, healthcare stakeholders, clients, guests, and vendors.
• Experience supporting wellness programs, health fairs, classes, immunization clinics, or similar events.
