Patient Care Technician-Oncology Full Time Nights

Location: 12251 S. 80th Av., Palos Heights, Illinois, United States. Full-time night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 72 hours per pay period, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $18.14–$24.49 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under RN supervision, including monitoring vital signs, measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Report abnormal findings and changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and respond to telephones, intercoms, and call lights.
• Prioritize unit work, manage changing workflows, and coordinate with the charge RN or assistant manager.
• Validate admission, discharge, and census lists and serve as a liaison with patient-related departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of clinical nursing school.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, organization, multitasking, and critical thinking in stressful situations.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant program or phlebotomy course.
