Electrical Technician - Low Voltage Systems

Location: Penrose, Colorado, United States; onsite work across facilities and customer sites

Salary: $31.50–$40.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems, sensors, controllers, control panels, and power distribution equipment.
• Install and terminate low-voltage systems including CCTV/IP cameras, access control, intrusion detection, structured cabling, intercoms, and AV systems.
• Configure and program control panels, IP cameras, VMS platforms, and access control systems.
• Use electrical test equipment to diagnose faults and perform corrective and preventive maintenance in the CMMS.
• Participate in commissioning, startup, testing, documentation, and preparation of as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and technicians while providing technical guidance to field crews and junior technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of hands-on electrical systems experience in an industrial, commercial, or field service environment.
• Experience with at least one low-voltage system, such as IP video/VMS, access control, intrusion alarms, structured cabling, or AV systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of conduit installation, Class 1 Division 1 installations, LOTO, arc-flash safety, TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and TIA standards.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites; ability to work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements; U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required. Some projects require eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Journeyman Electrician license, OSHA 10/30 certification, or NFPA 70E arc-flash safety training.
• Experience with DCS/SCADA/PLC systems, 4–20 mA loops, HART, and analog/digital signal troubleshooting.
• BICSI, ESA/NTS, Lenel OnGuard, Genetec, or Axis certifications.
• Defense, aerospace, government facility, ICD 705, or SCIF experience.
• Prior military technical MOS or equivalent service background.
