Senior Digital Designer (AI)

Location: UK-wide, hybrid

Salary: £52,000–£62,000 per year

What you will do

• Expand client brands into rich online experiences within and beyond existing design systems.
• Lead concept development for digital products and services from initial brief through polished execution.
• Use AI tools for ideation, prototyping, production, and AI-assisted coding to build working interactions.
• Work with clients, UX, research, development, project management, and delivery teams to maintain creative quality within time and budget constraints.
• Ensure designs meet accessibility and user-centred design standards while addressing delivery risks.
• Mentor junior and mid-weight team members and contribute to studio practice development and growth initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong creative design portfolio covering digital products, brand experiences, interaction design, front-end experiments, AI-enabled workflows, and measurable client outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools across ideation, prototyping, and production code, including responsible AI practices, data privacy, copyright, and generative AI usage.
• Strong knowledge of design systems, accessibility, usability, user-centred design, responsive design, and performance-focused design.
• Front-end experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; familiarity with React, component-based design, Git, and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience leading creative direction, managing complex projects within budget, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring UX and research colleagues.
• Experience designing micro-interactions, motion, and interactive digital experiences, preferably in not-for-profit, higher education, or public services.
