Senior Customer Engineer (Automotive Software Integration)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid office work arrangement. Customer support may require remote and on-site work, with travel of up to 20%.

Base salary: $140,000–$164,752 USD per year.

What you will do

• Integrate software modules and SDKs at the system or application level and develop proof-of-concept prototypes for customer demonstrations.
• Plan POCs, estimate implementation effort, prepare NRE estimates, and forecast required resources.
• Troubleshoot and debug integration issues, triage customer-reported problems, and coordinate resolution with the appropriate stakeholders.
• Present software demonstrations and architecture solutions to customers and partners.
• Provide customer integration support, manage feature requests, and serve as the technical point of contact.
• Coordinate external vendors and collaborate with Sales, Product, Software Development, QA, Technical Program Management, and customers worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience in data communication, networking, or the automotive industry.
• Strong C/C++ and embedded systems programming experience.
• Experience with Linux, Android, and/or other POSIX operating systems.
• Experience with systems integration, platform-dependent development, multithreading, and concurrent programming.
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, plus familiarity with software architecture, configuration management, and defect tracking tools.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; willingness to travel up to 20%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Linux and QNX boot sequences, bootloaders, and Linux or microcontroller image flashing.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, CAN bus, TCP/IP, HTTP, MQTT, and vehicle E/E architecture.
