TL;DR
Senior Test Analyst (Space Systems): Planning, designing, executing, and evaluating developmental, operational, and live-fire tests and experiments for space systems with an accent on design of experiments, modeling and simulation, and statistical analysis. Focus on decomposing complex systems into testable functional elements, defining data collection and go/no-go criteria, and analyzing system effectiveness under operational scenarios.

Location: Downtown Colorado Springs office, Colorado, United States

Salary: $165,000–$180,000 annually, with potential additional compensation and relocation benefits depending on the role and internal policy.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and review space systems tests and experiments for the Space Training and Readiness Command.
  • Design advanced test and experimentation programs using scientific and statistical methods, including design of experiments.
  • Create, review, and improve test plans, safety packages, readiness briefs, test cards, data analysis plans, and test reports.
  • Analyze pre-test predictions, modeling and simulation outputs, test data, anomalies, and system performance against customer specifications.
  • Define data collection requirements, go/no-go criteria, and analytical methods for real-time and post-mission evaluation.
  • Support test teams, design reviews, working groups, data analysis activities, and collaborative post-flight reporting.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in operations research, engineering, mathematics, probability, statistics, or science.
  • At least 6 years of experience in operations research, modeling, and simulation; 10+ years is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of test and evaluation disciplines, concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with statistical techniques, database query languages, scripting, design of experiments, response surface methodologies, model validation, and simulation.
  • Knowledge of space operations, orbital mechanics, or astrodynamics, plus experience decomposing complex systems and defining test objectives.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility is required.

Nice to have

  • DoD Acquisition Professional Development Test and Evaluation Practitioner certification.
  • Experience as a Space Weapons officer or with offensive and defensive space tactics.
  • Experience in the DoD or as a defense contractor working in test and evaluation.
