TL;DR
Aalo-X Shift Manager (Nuclear Operations): Directing control-room and field crews through reactor startup, testing, power operation, shutdown, abnormal events, and emergencies with an accent on nuclear safety, conservative decision-making, and operating-limit compliance. Focus on coordinating licensed operators, maintenance and work control, commissioning activities, emergency response, and crew development.

Location: On-site in Idaho Falls, Idaho; candidates must be based in the United States. Rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, outages, and emergent call-ins are required.

What you will do

  • Direct all on-shift hirify.global-X operations, including startup, criticality approach, heatup, power ascension, steady-state operation, shutdown, cooldown, testing, and emergency response.
  • Maintain nuclear safety culture and ensure the plant remains within its authorization basis, operating limits, and approved risk controls.
  • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, testing, work packages, LOTO authorizations, tagging and clearance, and configuration control.
  • Lead shift turnover, status briefings, crew assignments, pre-job and reactivity-management briefs, and operating-risk reviews.
  • Participate in design reviews as the end user and maintain accurate awareness of plant status, equipment availability, impairments, and work in progress.
  • Coach and evaluate crew members, lead initial facility response during emergencies, and develop future Shift Managers and Senior Reactor Operators.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible nuclear power operations experience, including five or more years in a commercial nuclear plant control room or licensed operator organization.
  • Current or previous NRC Senior Reactor Operator license, or documented DOE SRO certification with comparable rigor and substantial commercial control-room experience.
  • At least three years of supervisory or command experience directing licensed operators or an equivalent nuclear operating crew.
  • Experience with reactor startup and shutdown, reactivity control, abnormal and emergency procedures, work control, configuration control, and corrective action.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and the ability to complete facility-specific written, oral, simulator, and in-plant evaluations.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships under 10 CFR Part 810. Required access authorization, medical fitness-for-duty status, and company qualifications must be obtained and maintained.
