Staff Electrical Engineer (Nuclear Power)

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of MV/LV electrical systems from utility interconnection through process-area distribution, MCCs, and emergency power.
• Develop load lists, power system studies, arc flash analyses, grounding calculations, protection coordination studies, and equipment sizing.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, tray routes, duct bank designs, control schematics, and electrical area classification drawings.
• Specify switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS systems, standby generators, protection relays, and metering equipment.
• Lead vendor pre-qualification, bid evaluations, document reviews, factory audits, and factory acceptance tests.
• Mentor junior engineers and represent the electrical discipline in design reviews, HAZOP studies, AHJ meetings, regulatory interactions, commissioning, and contractor oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including leadership of complex MV/LV design programs.
• Advanced proficiency with SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or equivalent power system analysis software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead substation design from concept through detailed engineering.
• Deep knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, CSA, and IEC standards for industrial and process facilities.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• EIT, P.Eng., P.E., equivalent registration, or active pursuit thereof.
• Experience with nuclear facility electrical design, nuclear classification, and seismically qualified equipment.
• Experience with IEC 61850, DC systems, battery sizing, utility interconnection studies, and PPA technical interfaces.
