Construction Senior Supervisor (Electrical Substation Construction)

Location: Westminster, California, US; on-site work at an SCE facility or field location. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $154,000–$231,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a specialized team overseeing transformer, oil-filled electrical equipment, and personal grounds operations.
• Conduct field and shop observations, constructability reviews, job walks, inspections, and project updates for substation construction projects.
• Prepare and oversee construction plans, schedules, outage requests, manpower estimates, inspection reports, and incident investigations.
• Coordinate resources, workloads, tools, vehicles, materials, training, and timekeeping to improve crew performance and workflow.
• Implement safety programs, conduct safety meetings, and enforce regulatory, environmental, and organizational requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, clients, maintenance and testing personnel, operations, suppliers, and agencies including IBEW to resolve project issues.

Requirements

• Four or more years of combined experience performing or supervising electric utility substation or substation utility construction.
• Valid Class C driver's license.
• Experience with construction and maintenance methods, techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to manage safety programs, construction documentation, schedules, inspections, and concurrent projects.
• Ability to pass a NERC/CIP Personnel Risk Assessment or background investigation and complete required training before receiving unescorted access.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Approximately two years of experience inspecting and disassembling substation power transformers and other substation apparatus.
• Experience with environmental compliance and safe work practices.
