Field Supervisor – Catalina

Location: Long Beach, California, US. Work mode: on-site, with approximately 80% travel throughout SCE’s service territory and incident-response duties outside normal working hours.

Salary: $163,000–$244,400 per year.

What you will do

• Supervise line crews, troublemen, and streetlight repairmen in daily construction, maintenance, and field operations.
• Enforce safety policies, conduct field observations, correct unsafe conditions, and inspect job sites against required standards.
• Resolve operational issues, manage employee disputes, and adjust crew schedules, priorities, and resources.
• Verify crew timesheets, work orders, and operational records while optimizing overtime, crew size, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, training, coaching, and employee development.
• Coordinate with customers, city officials, external agencies, internal departments, and union personnel to meet project timelines.

Requirements

• At least two years of combined experience performing or supervising electric utility planning, design, construction, maintenance, operations, engineering, or construction project management.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Experience with electrical distribution construction and maintenance, including underground and overhead systems, safety procedures, regulatory requirements, environmental regulations, and hazardous waste management.
• Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects, allocate resources, and ensure on-schedule completion.
• Ability to lead employees and bargaining-unit personnel through effective communication, coaching, mentoring, and relationship building.
• Knowledge of applicable utility standards and safety rules, including GO 95, GO 128, GO168, and the Accident Prevention Manual.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of experience related to electric distribution design, construction, maintenance, or scheduling.
• Experience as a Troubleman or E-Crew Foreman.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and IBEW requirements.
• Experience with the WorkIT electronic work order system.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and medium to large construction projects.
