Substation Test Senior Supervisor

Location: On-site in Palmdale, California, United States, with possible extended assignments in Valencia and travel throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $163,000–$244,400 per year

What you will do

• Directly supervise Test Technician personnel and plan, schedule, and dispatch daily work assignments.
• Coordinate substation construction, maintenance, capital projects, ISO compliance inspections, and electrical equipment repairs.
• Implement corporate safety policies, operating bulletins, SC&M procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Order materials, tools, and equipment; prepare capital and expense work orders for repairs and replacements.
• Maintain SAP test records, budgets, reports, timekeeping, training records, and safety documentation.
• Coach and mentor employees, handle grievances and labor inquiries, and respond to substation emergencies on call.

Requirements

• Four or more years of combined experience performing or supervising work related to the design, construction, maintenance, or scheduling of electric systems.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Experience with safety procedures, hazardous materials and waste handling, employee supervision, and compliance training.
• Must work on-site at an SCE facility or field location and travel throughout the SCE service territory.
• Must pass a NERC/CIP Personnel Risk Assessment or background investigation and complete required training before receiving unescorted access.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with relay testing procedures, substation construction test methods, SOM, SOB, APM, tools, vehicles, and materials.
• Experience working with project managers to develop capital installation programs.
