Infrastructure Engineer

Polymarket operates a peer-to-peer prediction market platform where users trade on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate the Kubernetes-based platform running Polymarket services across multiple environments.
• Develop autoscaling, load balancing, service discovery, and disaster-recovery systems for high trading volumes.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operations through infrastructure as code and internal tooling.
• Build and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines for frequent engineering releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems; participate in on-call rotations and lead root-cause analysis.
• Architect and optimize AWS or GCP infrastructure for cost, performance, and security while collaborating with backend, exchange, and product engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering experience with production systems.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including cluster operations, workload orchestration, and container lifecycle management.
• Ability to write production-grade code in Go, Python, or a similar language.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, including networking, IAM, compute, and storage.
• Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD systems.
• Ability to debug distributed production systems on Linux and take ownership of performance, correctness, and uptime.

Nice to have

• Experience operating high-throughput, low-latency, or financial/trading infrastructure.
• Experience with service mesh, GitOps, ArgoCD, Flux, or multi-cluster and multi-region architectures.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
