Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in AL, AZ, DC, FL, GA, ID, MD, MS, NJ, NC, OK, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, or WV. U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must be available during Eastern Time business hours and may need to travel occasionally to FAA facilities and other locations in the Continental United States.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, operate, and improve secure cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure for enterprise data and application platforms.
• Build and maintain cloud networking, VPCs, identity and access management, containerized and serverless services, compute, storage, monitoring, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code and automation for repeatable configuration, deployment, scaling, and operational management.
• Support platform modernization, legacy-to-cloud assessments, migration pilots, cutover planning, resiliency improvements, and cost-efficient cloud operations.
• Implement cloud security and governance practices, including patching, vulnerability remediation, logging, monitoring, configuration management, and documentation.
• Coordinate with platform, application, data, DevOps, architecture, and security teams to resolve incidents, dependencies, and implementation risks.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and residence in one of the specified U.S. states are required.
• Availability during Eastern Time business hours is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• At least four years of cloud engineering or similar professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud or AWS Commercial Cloud, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, and cloud networking.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance and FAA Contractor Personnel Suitability is required.

Nice to have

• FAA or other federal experience in regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud platforms.
• Relevant cloud or infrastructure certifications.
• Familiarity with FAA security, governance, architecture, documentation, and change-management requirements.
