Forward Deployed Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid work. Travel to client sites may be required for up to 25% of working time.

Base salary: $140,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, prepare, deploy, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Vault implementations on client, SaaS, and internal cloud infrastructure.
• Advise clients and external partners on high availability, disaster recovery, backups, redundancy, capacity, and security.
• Support infrastructure deployments both remotely and on client sites, including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Work across the full project lifecycle, from presales and requirements through testing and production delivery at scale.
• Collaborate with client engineering teams, Cloud Provider Partners, Client Architects, and internal product and engineering teams.
• Provide client feedback to help improve hirify.global products and platforms.

Requirements

• Hands-on cloud infrastructure consulting and experience supporting production systems.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or Istio.
• Experience with automation or configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Experience with AWS or GCP.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a hybrid New York City role and travel to client sites for up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Certifications and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud architecture.
• Experience with enterprise secrets management, hybrid cloud technologies, or observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong background in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience supporting high-profile, mission-critical systems, ideally for a tier 1 financial institution.
• Experience with CockroachDB, AlloyDB, or Aurora.
