Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Bloomfield, Connecticut, USA; hybrid. Travel up to 15%.

Salary: $75,000–$100,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, evaluate, and plan mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, renovations, and upgrades.
• Perform load and energy calculations using IES and similar software, and select equipment based on engineering analysis.
• Survey existing buildings and document mechanical systems.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, design documents, reports, and studies.
• Research code compliance and coordinate design work with other disciplines.
• Provide construction administration, including site visits, submittal reviews, RFI responses, and QA/QC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 2–5 years of design experience with HVAC and power piping systems.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and design guidelines.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, communicate effectively, and travel as required.
