Senior Scientist R&D (cfDNA)

Salary: $138,100–$172,600 USD annually, plus performance incentives and equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead technical assay-development projects, timelines, and deliverables as a subject-matter expert.
• Plan, design, execute, and report feasibility, development, verification, and validation studies under design control.
• Develop innovative molecular assays in collaboration with research scientists, automation engineers, biostatisticians, and data scientists.
• Document experimental data, scientific findings, and recommendations for R&D, laboratory operations, scientific affairs, product management, quality, and regulatory groups.
• Support and lead junior scientists and laboratory technicians; may manage Research Associates.

Requirements

• University degree with 8+ years of related experience, MS with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Knowledge of high-throughput NGS workflows or genetic testing applications in clinical settings.
• Experience developing and validating molecular assays for CLIA laboratory testing.
• Experience automating molecular workflows or transferring assays to automated platforms.
• Project management experience and strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput sample processing and automated liquid handling in a CLIA-regulated laboratory.

Nice to have

• Experience with long-range PCR and long-read sequencing technologies.
• Knowledge of design verification and validation processes compliant with U.S. and E.U. regulatory standards.
• Proficiency with JMP, Excel, Python, R, and bioinformatics tools and platforms.
