Senior Research Associate, NGS - Genomics Platform (Genomics)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Perform NGS library quality control, pooling, and sequencing operations for bulk and single-cell workflows.
• Operate sequencing platforms including Illumina and Ultima Genomics.
• Coordinate sequencing projects with investigators and Technology Centers, reviewing submissions and providing workflow guidance.
• Maintain sample tracking records, sequencing schedules, standard operating procedures, and LIMS/ELN workflows.
• Improve data-generation processes and procedures while documenting and presenting results to stakeholders.
• Support routine laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance and supply management.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biology, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant post-graduate experience with a BS, or 2 years with an MS.
• Hands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction, purification, quantification, PCR/RT-PCR, qPCR, Qubit, and Bioanalyzer or TapeStation.
• Expertise in NGS library preparation, quality assessment, pooling strategies, and sequencing operations, including Illumina instrumentation.
• Strong collaboration, communication, organization, analytical, troubleshooting, and customer-support skills.
• This is a fixed-term 12-month position performed onsite in Palo Alto five days per week and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation platforms and high-throughput molecular workflows.
• Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing, including 10x Genomics or another platform.
• Experience processing mammalian cells and tissues.
