Research Associate 2/ Sr. Research Associate - Product Development (NGS)

Location: Fremont, California, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support the development, optimization, and validation of novel oncology assays and laboratory workflows.
• Extract DNA and RNA from blood and tissue samples and construct high-quality NGS libraries.
• Process sample cohorts for assay validation studies and external industry or academic collaborations.
• Evaluate new protocols as a frontline user and provide feedback to improve SOPs.
• Maintain sample tracking, laboratory records, and experimental documentation.
• Present findings in team meetings and follow safety, quality, and company standards.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or a related biological science.
• 3+ years of hands-on molecular biology laboratory experience; biotech or pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in DNA/RNA extraction, quality control using tools such as Qubit and TapeStation, and NGS library preparation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Ability to work in the hybrid Fremont, California setup.

Nice to have

• Experience with liquid biopsy samples, including cfDNA or cfRNA.
• Experience processing FFPE samples.
