Research Associate 2/ Sr. Research Associate - Assay Development

Location: Fremont, California, United States; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus or sales incentive plan, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support the development, optimization, and validation of novel oncology assays and workflows.
• Extract DNA and RNA from blood and tissue samples and prepare high-quality NGS libraries.
• Process sample cohorts for assay validation studies and external industry or academic collaborations.
• Evaluate new protocols as a frontline user and provide feedback for SOP refinement.
• Maintain sample tracking and experimental records and present findings in team meetings.
• Follow laboratory safety guidelines, quality standards, and company policies.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biochemistry, or a related biological science.
• At least 3 years of hands-on molecular biology laboratory experience, preferably in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
• Proficiency in DNA/RNA extraction, quality control using tools such as Qubit and TapeStation, and NGS library preparation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on R&D environment.

Nice to have

• Experience processing liquid biopsy samples, including cfDNA or cfRNA.
• Experience with FFPE sample processing.
