Senior Cybersecurity SME/SCA (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite in Chantilly, Virginia, United States. Active Top Secret clearance required.

Salary: $180,000–$190,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Participate in system requirements, preliminary design, and critical design reviews to integrate security throughout the system lifecycle.
• Guide teams in implementing DevSecOps practices, including SAST, DAST, and continuous compliance monitoring.
• Conduct threat modeling and assess vulnerabilities, STIGs, penetration tests, and technical scan results to determine operational risk.
• Support RMF execution and help the Authorizing Official translate technical compliance gaps into mission-focused risk decisions.
• Drive Zero Trust adoption and provide expertise in Cross Domain Solutions for classified and tactical environments.
• Evaluate security across Platform IT, cloud, hardware/software systems, communication networks, and satellite control systems while liaising with government, defense, and security stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 12 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity engineering, and Assessment & Authorization with increasing responsibility.
• Multi-domain experience with SAP and SCI systems, Platform IT, cloud environments, and Cross Domain Solutions.
• Active IAT Level III or IAM Level III baseline certification equivalent, such as CISSP, CISM, GSLC, or CASP+ CE.
• Experience with system architectures, data flows, network boundary defense, ACAS/Nessus, SCAP, STIG Viewer, Splunk/SIEM, CSPM, AWS, Azure IL5/IL6, Kubernetes, Docker, and MASS or Xacta.

Nice to have

• Experience in the defense innovation ecosystem, including rapid prototyping, test environments, and Platform IT systems.
• Hands-on systems integration or cybersecurity engineering experience with enterprise networks, cloud computing, or all-domain Platform IT architectures.
