Cloud Subject Matter Expert / Cloud Security Architect

What you will do

• Design secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient AWS and Azure cloud architectures, including hybrid- and multi-cloud environments.
• Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives for applications, platforms, databases, and infrastructure.
• Develop cloud security architectures, landing zones, governance models, security standards, guardrails, and identity-centric access controls.
• Support federal compliance and Authorization to Operate activities, including security plans, risk assessments, control evidence, remediation, and continuous monitoring.
• Integrate security into CI/CD workflows through Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, automated testing, container and Kubernetes security, and compliance reporting.
• Act as the principal technical advisor, lead architecture and risk reviews, communicate with government stakeholders, and mentor technical personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of information technology experience, including five years in cloud architecture or cloud security.
• Demonstrated experience designing and securing enterprise AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Hands-on experience with NIST SP 800-53, NIST RMF, FISMA, FedRAMP, ATO processes, and continuous monitoring.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, identity and access management, encryption, logging, monitoring, disaster recovery, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, containers, Kubernetes, and security automation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance or public-trust designation required by the contract; one or more advanced cloud certifications and one recognized cybersecurity certification are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting NIH, HHS, DoD, DHS, or other federal agencies and using AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.
• Familiarity with FIPS 140-3, DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, OMB cybersecurity guidance, and CISA Zero Trust requirements.
• Experience with ServiceNow GRC, JCAM, CSAM, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud, Prisma Cloud, or Wiz.
