Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Larne, County Antrim, United Kingdom; onsite in the office 4.5 days per week

Salary: starting from £50,827 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead electrical design activities for new product development, engineering changes, manufacturing support, and product improvement projects.
• Design controls and protection systems for generators, motors, switchboards, panels, and related equipment.
• Interpret consultant drawings and specifications, prepare project submittals, and discuss requirements with customers.
• Select and specify components and services, create bills of materials, and develop settings for control and protection devices.
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Sales, direct other engineers, and review and approve project drawings.
• Support testing, procedures, design guides, instruction manuals, and the training of new designers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline, with proven experience in electrical design engineering.
• Experience leading electrical design projects from concept through delivery.
• Ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
• Experience with switchboard design, including busbar sizing, and panel design considering temperature rise and ventilation.
• Availability to work onsite in Larne, United Kingdom, 4.5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical installation design, system verification, and compliance activities.
• Experience with Creo or similar drawing packages.
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise software.
