Bodily Injury Adjuster - Florida

Location: Hybrid in Tampa, Florida; must reside within 50 miles of Tampa. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Eastern Time. Office attendance is required weekly, monthly, or as needed depending on the role and leadership assessment.

Salary: $70,000-$85,000 annually, plus potential annual company bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Review assigned pre-litigation bodily injury claims and contact insured parties, claimants, attorneys, and other affected parties.
• Investigate claim facts, secure and evaluate evidence, review damages, and determine liability, coverage, payment, and recovery potential.
• Perform complex coverage analysis and identify applicable policyholder benefits, state laws, negligence law, and no-fault law.
• Negotiate and resolve claims involving bodily injuries, coverage investigations, liability disputes, and simple litigation.
• Refer claims to Underwriting, Subrogation, or the Special Investigation Unit when appropriate.
• Assist the Claim Manager with file reviews and training.

Requirements

• Florida State Adjuster License required where applicable.
• Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
• At least three years of experience or equivalent training in claim settlement negotiation, evidence evaluation, estimating, subrogation, coverage questions, statements, and claim resolution planning.
• Advanced knowledge of fair trade practices related to claims, subrogation procedures, intercompany arbitration, simple litigation, negligence law, no-fault law, medical terminology, and human anatomy.
• Strong communication, customer service, critical thinking, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, and time-management skills.
• A valid driver's license is required when the role involves in-person inspections or frequent in-person meetings; travel outside the assigned territory, including overnight stays, may be required.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
• Completion of the ACG Claim Representative Training Program or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Insurance Institute of America General Insurance Program, Associate in Claims, Associate in Management, or equivalent.
• CPCU coursework or designation.
