Claims Specialist Bodily Injury-Remote

Location: Fully remote from the USA for candidates who are not local to the Richfield, Ohio office; local employees work hybrid with four days per week onsite and one day remotely.

Salary: $85,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage a large inventory of complex bodily injury and property and casualty claims.
• Investigate claims to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages.
• Analyze and negotiate settlements and reserves within assigned authority.
• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, and trials as needed.
• Communicate complex coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorize timely payments and maintain accurate claim files, correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience handling property and casualty claims.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, claims procedures, industry laws, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize complex caseloads, resolve claims on time, handle confidential information, and lead negotiations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Commercial auto claims experience.
• Litigation experience.
• Completion of or progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC).
