Claims Appraiser - Auto Estimatics

Location: Chicago, Illinois; candidates should reside within a commutable distance of the territory. Remote-field work combines virtual estimates from home with in-person appointments at body shops and customer locations. Flexible shifts, overtime, irregular hours, and work outside the assigned territory may be required.

Salary: $69,398.62–$91,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Collect vehicle information from repair shops and customers and prepare initial and supplemental repair estimates using photos or in-person inspections.
• Use automated estimating systems to assess vehicle damage, repairability, market value, bid content, photo documentation, and causation.
• Provide technical support to claim handlers on vehicle repair issues.
• Explain coverage and guide insured customers through the claims process.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls with customers and repair shops while addressing questions and concerns professionally.
• Conduct inspections that may involve stooping, bending, and physical lifting.

Requirements

• Experience in auto collision repair, auto damage estimating, or auto insurance appraisal.
• Excellent customer service, critical thinking, decision-making, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask across technical platforms and demonstrate accountability and resourcefulness.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, applicable Motor Vehicle Record checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments.
• Ability to work within commuting distance of the Chicago territory and attend in-person vehicle appointments.

Nice to have

• Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License.
• CCC One or Mitchell knowledge.
• I-CAR Platinum Certification.
