Senior Claims Rep Auto Property Damage (Insurance)

Location: Virginia, USA; hybrid schedule based out of the Richfield, Ohio office, with on-site work expected four days per week and one remote day.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year.

Commercial transportation insurance provider specializing in risk financing, insurance products, loss control, and claims services for the wheels-based transportation industry.

What you will do

• Manage an inventory of auto property-damage claims and evaluate compensability and liability.
• Plan and conduct investigations to confirm coverage, liability, compensability, and damages.
• Determine reserves and negotiate claim settlements within assigned authority.
• Communicate coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorize timely payments and maintain complete claim files with correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk management and insurance, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of property and casualty claims-handling experience.
• Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, claims procedures, and applicable industry laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage technically complex assignments, handle confidential information discreetly, and resolve claims within required timelines.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Completed or ongoing professional designation, such as Associate in Claims (AIC).
