AWS-to-Azure Migration Architect / Lead Consultant

What you will do

• Lead the technical migration and cutover engineering for a production transportation management platform from AWS to Microsoft Azure.
• Stand up Azure landing zones with Windows VMs, IIS, Windows Services, private networking, private endpoints, Azure Key Vault, and security controls.
• Build and monitor continuous binlog replication from AWS RDS MySQL to Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server, including target database promotion.
• Plan and execute migration of AWS S3 object storage to Azure Blob Storage, including egress and network throughput planning.
• Author cutover runbooks and rollback procedures, lead two timed rehearsals, and execute the live cutover within an overnight downtime window of under four hours.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare, resolve operational issues, and assist with decommissioning legacy AWS infrastructure.

Requirements

• 7 or more years of cloud architecture and hands-on infrastructure engineering experience.
• Proven experience personally leading production AWS-to-Azure migrations with strict downtime windows and rehearsed rollbacks.
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS RDS MySQL to Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server replication, binlog management, and promotion.
• Experience migrating large-scale AWS S3 storage to Azure Blob Storage and administering Windows Server, IIS, and Windows Services on Azure IaaS.
• Deep expertise in Azure networking, private endpoints, Azure Key Vault, cloud security architectures, and operational cutover documentation.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with legacy .NET Framework architectures, including Web Forms, WCF, and Entity Framework.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Bicep or Terraform.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions deployment pipelines.
• Experience migrating legacy systems with limited documentation or test coverage.
