Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer (Azure)

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually

What you will do

• Provide white-glove cloud support to Department of Veterans Affairs workgroups participating in a data modernization initiative.
• Guide workgroups through cloud adoption, resource setup, workload migration, and post-migration resource decommissioning.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate with cloud architects, engineers, system owners, and on-premises teams.
• Build a knowledge base and standard best practices for cloud migration and ongoing support.
• Respond to workgroup questions, conduct data-call research, and provide progress and outcome reports to leadership.
• Manage competing priorities, parallel projects, timelines, and cross-functional program support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus 12 years of experience; equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience managing projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs and working in Healthcare IT.
• Expertise with Azure or another major cloud platform, including Databricks workspace administration, catalog creation, mount configuration, and cluster setup.
• Strong knowledge of data lake architectures, especially Delta Lake or similar structured storage solutions.
• Experience automating cloud provisioning with Terraform, ARM, Bicep, PowerShell, or Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Windows, macOS, Linux, Ruby, HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Node, Angular, jQuery, SQL Server, MongoDB, AWS, GCP, Heroku, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, APIs, and full-stack sustainment.
• Experience with conflict management, servant leadership, root-cause analysis, and complex issue resolution.
• Strong planning, project oversight, risk management, prioritization, organization, leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and client environments quickly and work independently.
