Head of Partnerships, Japan (AI)

Location: Tokyo, Japan. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office time.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and scale the Japan partnerships team across global system integrators, regional system integrators, and resellers.
• Set the Japan partner strategy, coverage model, annual plans, quarterly plans, and localized partner-program structure.
• Own executive relationships with strategic Japanese partners and negotiate resale, co-development, revenue-sharing, and incentive agreements.
• Develop joint solutions and industry offerings across manufacturing, financial services, retail, telecommunications, life sciences, and the public sector.
• Own partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline, revenue, and attach-rate targets, including forecasting and investment allocation.
• Represent Japanese partner and customer requirements across sales, applied AI, marketing, legal, product, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 15–20+ years of experience in enterprise technology, including substantial experience leading partner, alliance, or channel businesses in Japan.
• At least 5 years of people leadership over partner or alliance teams, with experience hiring, developing, and retaining strong performers.
• Direct experience building a Japan partner business for a US or global technology company and owning country- or regional-level partner revenue targets.
• Established executive relationships with major Japanese system integrators and consulting firms, plus experience negotiating complex partnership structures.
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a player-coach, shape strategy, and work with global teams across time zones.
• Business-level Japanese and English fluency required; candidates must be based in Tokyo.

Nice to have

• Partnership experience in AI, data, or cloud platforms, including partner-built solutions and marketplace motions.
• Experience working inside a Japanese system integrator or distributor.
• Experience localizing a global partner program for Japan and working with professional services or applied AI teams.
