Design Drafter (High Energy Laser)

What you will do

• Prepare detailed drawings for unusual, complex, and original designs supporting High Energy Laser weapon platforms.
• Interpret design intent, engineering drawings, schematics, interface requirements, and written or verbal instructions.
• Create detailed designs, diagrams, layouts, and production documentation using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
• Work with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to define requirements and resolve manufacturing, assembly, installation, and operational issues.
• Calculate dimensions, material requirements, and weight limitations while ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare product operation, features, and maintenance manuals and support complex drafting projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least 6 years of relevant drafting experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• Extensive experience with SolidWorks computer-aided design software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an active development lab and agile environment.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Associate degree.
• 10 or more years of relevant drafting experience.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and ASME drafting standards.
• ADDA certification.
