Mechanical Engineer (Directed Energy)

What you will do

• Design and analyze directed energy systems and instrumentation.
• Develop mechanical structures, enclosures, and opto-mechanical components.
• Perform thermal and flow analyses and support design development.
• Contribute to system integration and testing across multiple concurrent efforts.
• Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team while supporting government and military customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks 3D modeling.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience; advanced STEM degrees may substitute year for year.
• Ability to work independently on projects with tight schedules.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with precision measuring equipment, including calipers and micrometers.
• Experience designing electro-optical system packaging and mounting structures for military platforms.
• Experience with precision-tunable opto-mechanical designs and customer communication.
• Experience creating technical drawings according to ASME Y14.100 and applying GD&T.
• Experience with structural or thermal analysis, including FEA and stress, modal, or thermal modeling.
