Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $75,000–$275,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Explore mechanical design concepts, conduct trade studies, select solutions, and lead prototyping and testing.
• Plan and execute complex electromechanical designs from ideation through detailed design, hardware fabrication, and testing.
• Contribute to requirements development and drive solutions to complex customer-driven problems with limited direction.
• Identify system-level technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide constructive feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering or full-cycle mechanical design experience.
• Strong understanding of applied mathematics and physics.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, CAD software, or relevant design and analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; Secret clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Top Secret security clearance.
