Drafter, CAD

Location: On-site in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States; travel between hirify.global facilities and occasional customer travel, including potential international travel, may be required.

hirify.global develops products that require integrated mechanical, electrical, cable, and wiring documentation for manufacturing and assembly.

What you will do

• Create detailed 2D mechanical manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings from 3D CAD models.
• Develop electrical interconnect documentation for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, point-to-point wiring, and system diagrams.
• Apply dimensions, GD&T, wire specifications, pinouts, surface finishes, title blocks, and BOMs according to ASME Y14.5 and company standards.
• Prepare documentation for manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and engineering review.
• Process ECOs and ECNs, maintain drawing revisions, and manage CAD libraries and engineering documentation in PDM/PLM systems.
• Work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to interpret markups, resolve discrepancies, and identify documentation issues affecting product performance or production.

Requirements

• Associate degree in CADD, Drafting Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of professional drafting experience, including mechanical manufacturing drawings and 2D cable or wiring harness documentation.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems and engineering document control.
• Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T, plus familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Ability to create and interpret connector callouts, pinouts, wire specifications, BOMs, and electrical schematics.

Nice to have

• Experience with Arena PLM.
• Experience with Altium or similar electronics design-capture software.
• Experience supporting products combining mechanical assemblies, electronics, cables, and wiring.
• Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or advanced product development environment.
