Working Student Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hamburg, Germany; hybrid options with remote work within the EU

What you will do

• Support the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software components in an AI-supported development process.
• Develop product features and improvements with experienced software engineers.
• Analyze technical issues and help identify suitable solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas.
• Support improvements to development processes, tooling, and product quality.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues as part of a Scrum team.

Requirements

• Currently completing the final stage of a bachelor's degree or recently started a master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Intention to pursue and complete a master's degree.
• Practical software project experience from internships, working student positions, university projects, open-source contributions, or personal projects.
• Exposure to Java or a comparable programming language.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• Experience with AI development tools such as Claude.
