Senior Backend Developer (Java/Spring Boot)

Location: Fully remote for candidates in Europe or LATAM; occasional travel to client sites in LATAM may be required. Most working hours should fall within 9 am–7 pm CET.

Salary: €3,000–€4,000 gross per month, dependent on experience; B2B contract.

What you will do

• Develop clean, testable, and efficient backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
• Design secure, scalable REST APIs and microservices for distributed systems.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture to model domains and build asynchronous workflows.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and data flows.
• Build third-party integrations, payment systems, data pipelines, and internal backend tools.
• Own backend modules from technical planning through implementation, testing, documentation, release support, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Expert knowledge of Java 21, Spring Boot 3.2+, Hibernate, and modern Java backend development.
• Deep understanding of Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, cloud-based application environments, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with product managers, designers, frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and client stakeholders.
• Fluent English is mandatory; Spanish is advantageous for understanding LATAM business requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with ECS/Fargate.
• Experience in fintech, SaaS, HR, payroll, ERP, e-commerce, logistics, retail, AI-enabled products, or complex B2B platforms.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
