Lead Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid setup. Flexible working hours and up to four weeks of workation.

hirify.global is building an AI-driven financial operating system for European healthcare, transforming administrative workflows across patient care, billing, and payments.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture of the Integrations platform, from practice-side client software through the transaction engine.
• Build connections between practice management systems and hirify.global's backend across legacy protocols, databases, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Drive technical direction, roadmap decisions, engineering patterns, and long-term platform investments.
• Develop AI-powered integration capabilities such as smarter matching, anomaly detection, and automated triage.
• Improve engineering practices and AI tooling adoption across the team.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, Commercial, Support, Legal, and external PMS partners.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of software engineering experience with technical leadership, architecture ownership, mentoring, and cross-team initiatives.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, systems-level thinking, and proficiency in data and API modelling.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the full development life cycle.
• Experience using and introducing AI tools to improve individual and team effectiveness.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies quickly.

Nice to have

• Full-stack experience across device-level and database integrations, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS, security best practices, and Windows Native APIs.
• Experience deploying and supporting software across on-premise installations and varied customer environments.
• German language skills.
