Senior Software Engineer (Fluent Commerce)

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid with 3 office days per week. Temporary work-from-anywhere is available for up to 4 weeks per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain solutions on the Fluent Commerce order management platform.
• Develop workflows, rules, events, and orchestration logic for order management, fulfilment, and inventory.
• Build custom Fluent Commerce rules with the Rules SDK and Java.
• Develop GraphQL, REST API, webhook, and event-driven integrations across the e-commerce ecosystem.
• Own reliability and performance, including failure handling, retries, idempotency, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on technical design, AI-powered capabilities, testing, code reviews, and documentation.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Fluent Commerce, its Order Management platform, workflows, events, rules, and orchestration.
• Experience with the Fluent Commerce Rules SDK, Java, and Maven.
• Background in software architecture and integration design using GraphQL, REST APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous or event-driven patterns.
• Knowledge of sourcing, fulfilment, inventory, cancellations, returns, and order life cycles.
• Proven fluency with Agentic AI and coding agents while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; the role is based in Munich with regular office attendance.

• Experience with Spring Boot and the Fluent Connect SDK.
• German language skills.
