Java Software Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Fully remote; associated with the Georgian office in Yerevan, Armenia.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and evolve REST APIs for complex healthcare data and service integrations.
• Build and optimize provider search, filtering, geo-aware results, indexing, and fallback logic with Apache Solr/SolrCloud.
• Write unit, integration, and regression tests while improving performance testing, CI/CD, builds, and code-quality tooling.
• Modernize shared libraries and platform dependencies, including the Spring Boot 4 migration.
• Use coding agents such as Kiro and GitHub Copilot with human-led planning, review, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing REST APIs and data-intensive backend applications.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle or a comparable relational database.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Solr/SolrCloud or another search and indexing platform.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing, Gradle, static analysis, interconnected services, shared libraries, and external API integrations.
• Experience with Kiro, GitHub Copilot, or comparable AI coding agents, including critical review of generated code and clear technical, QA, and code-review documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, or other configuration-management tools.
• Experience with Solr infrastructure, search-index reliability, or major platform and framework migrations.
• Background in MedTech, healthcare, or other complex data-intensive systems.
