TL;DR
Mid-Level Java Developer (Java): Building and maintaining robust backend services with an accent on Java, Spring Boot, REST and gRPC APIs, PostgreSQL, containerization, and Kubernetes deployment. Focus on troubleshooting distributed systems, applying backend security controls, contributing to GitOps-based CI/CD workflows, and improving service reliability.
Location: Remote from Brazil or Colombia

What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
- Implement and evolve versioned REST and gRPC APIs.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, tune performance, and integrate Redis caching.
- Containerize, debug, and deploy services with Docker and Kubernetes on GKE.
- Apply OAuth2/OIDC, JWT validation, RBAC, and secure coding practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows with Tekton, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitOps practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Strong production experience with Java 17 or 21 and Spring Boot.
- Experience with REST APIs, gRPC concepts, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and backend security fundamentals.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL and JPA/Hibernate.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployments, debugging, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems, analyze logs, and diagnose performance issues.
- Advanced English and availability to work remotely from Brazil or Colombia.
Nice to have
- Kafka or other event-driven technologies and NoSQL databases.
- Redis, GitOps, ArgoCD, Tekton, Helm, or Kustomize experience.
- Exposure to GCP services such as GKE, IAM, and Cloud Logging/Monitoring.
- Knowledge of OPA, WebSockets, streaming APIs, or AI-driven automation.
