Associate Director Compliance – Regulatory and Governance (Regulatory Compliance/AML): Leading the development and implementation of unified regulatory policies, governance frameworks, and compliance operating models across jurisdictions with an accent on AML standards, regulatory change, and second-line assurance. Focus on managing regulatory incidents, standardising reporting, strengthening cross-jurisdictional oversight, and developing high-performing compliance teams.

Location: Southampton, United Kingdom. Flexible hybrid working is available.

What you will do

  • Support the Global Head of Compliance in implementing the global compliance strategy and coordinating local subject-matter experts.
  • Unify regulatory and governance approaches, policies, frameworks, registers, and reporting across jurisdictions.
  • Provide senior escalation support on significant regulatory issues and oversee participation in regulatory forums, working groups, and triage committees.
  • Establish governance and oversight frameworks supporting reporting to executive and board committees.
  • Lead regulatory incident management, including investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective action planning, and reporting.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing regulatory and governance compliance team and oversee the compliance training programme.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in compliance, AML, financial crime, or a related role within financial services.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of jurisdictional regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing compliance strategies.
  • ICA Diploma, university degree, or comparable qualification.
  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, coaching, mentoring, and regulatory-change leadership skills.
