Legal Director – Crime & Regulatory (Crime & Regulatory Law): Leading complex regulatory matters and shaping the strategic growth of a nationally recognised legal practice with an accent on inquests, professional discipline, investigations, health and safety, environmental and licensing matters. Focus on advocacy, supervising and developing junior lawyers, building insurer and client relationships, and driving business development and profitability.

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working available

Requirements

  • Senior Associate, Legal Director or Partner specialising in crime and regulatory law
  • Strong technical expertise across multiple regulatory disciplines
  • Experience handling complex inquests, fitness to practise cases and advocacy
  • Commercial mindset with a track record in client development and practice growth
  • Experience with insurance-backed work or complex participant environments
  • Confident leadership, supervision and people-development skills

What you will do

  • Lead complex, high-value regulatory matters, including advocacy where appropriate
  • Act as a technical specialist on inquests and fitness to practise cases
  • Provide pragmatic advice to insured and uninsured businesses and individuals
  • Support the strategy, growth and expansion of the Crime & Regulatory practice in Manchester
  • Build relationships with insurers, clients and internal partners
  • Supervise junior lawyers and contribute to business development, thought leadership and financial performance
