Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing (Biopharma)

What you will do

• Support global sourcing strategies for CMOs/CDMOs, APIs, excipients, packaging, direct materials, engineering services, MRO, and capital equipment.
• Build category strategies covering demand aggregation, supplier segmentation, total cost of ownership, and value creation.
• Lead supplier relationship management, performance scorecards, governance models, and strategic partnerships.
• Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, contract negotiations, and competitive rate management.
• Partner with Technical Operations, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance on product lifecycle, scale-up, commercialization, and innovation.
• Support supply continuity and risk mitigation through supplier risk programs and dual- or multi-sourcing strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of relevant strategic sourcing or procurement experience with exposure to Technical Operations in life sciences.
• Experience sourcing in regulated environments, including GMP/GxP requirements.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing processes and supply chains.
• Experience with CMOs/CDMOs, direct materials, and technical services categories.
• Advanced negotiation, financial analysis, supplier management, risk management, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience leading global sourcing teams and complex supplier networks.
