What you will do

• Manage the preparation, filing, prosecution, and maintenance of US patent applications and patents for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical inventions.
• Provide strategic guidance on USPTO filings, inventorship, conception, reduction to practice, and related intellectual property matters.
• Support inter partes reviews, post-grant reviews, re-examinations, reissues, petitions, and appeals before the USPTO.
• Conduct small- and large-molecule prior art searches and evaluate relevant scientific literature, patents, and file histories.
• Advise on patent protection for scientific, technical, and clinical publications from internal teams and third-party collaborators.
• Coordinate activities with outside US patent counsel and maintain patent status and docket reports.

Requirements

• Registered Patent Agent in good standing to practice before the USPTO.
• PhD or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical discipline.
• At least 3 years of in-house or private-practice patent agent experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical field.
• Demonstrated experience managing US patent portfolios and preparing and prosecuting related applications.
• Strong knowledge of USPTO rules and regulations, strategic judgment, organizational skills, and complex issue analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
