Senior Paralegal, Intellectual Property

Location: On-site or remote in the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Bay Area, New Jersey, or Cambridge, Massachusetts areas, as specified in the offer letter. Monday–Friday during standard business hours; manager-approved flexibility is available.

Salary: $134,500–$148,000 annual base pay, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus and equity award.

What you will do

• Support patent prosecution, patent administration, IP licensing, enforcement, and litigation matters.
• Draft, revise, file, and manage patent applications, amendments, responses, declarations, motions, notices, and other legal documents.
• Manage electronic filing systems, docket deadlines, patent renewals, IP systems, and document repositories.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on engagements, billing, patent prosecution, and domestic and foreign matters.
• Conduct preliminary factual and legal research and prepare charts, indexes, memoranda, timelines, reports, and correspondence.
• Support due diligence, IP acquisitions, integrations, subpoenas, document requests, and other cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of IP paralegal experience, or high school diploma/equivalent with 12+ years of IP paralegal experience.
• Paralegal certification and specialized intellectual property paralegal experience are required.
• Experience managing patent prosecution with outside counsel in the United States and foreign jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, U.S. patent law, and international patent prosecution procedures.
• Experience with LexisNexis, Anaqua, Legal Tracker, Derwent, and IP analytics.
• Ability to manage confidential information, prioritize multiple deadlines, conduct research, proofread documents, and improve legal processes.
