Head of Business Operations (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, United States. Primarily office-based with occasional presence on the manufacturing floor and occasional travel to other hirify.global sites or meetings of less than 10%.

What you will do

• Lead business operations across Formulation, Filling, Inspection, and Packaging at the Swiftwater manufacturing site.
• Develop and maintain programs that ensure production execution to schedule and improve efficiency and productivity.
• Analyze operational performance, communicate KPIs and insights, and represent factory needs to leadership and support functions.
• Manage factory interfaces covering process handoffs, process ownership, inventory management, and business systems.
• Forecast and manage staffing resources, including registered headcount, temporary workers, and flexible staffing.
• Lead capacity planning, budget oversight, strategic savings projects, and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field; vaccine manufacturing experience may be considered for unrelated degrees.
• Master’s degree is highly preferred.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, business operations, or a related field within pharmaceutical or vaccine manufacturing.
• Experience managing cross-functional relationships and acting as a liaison between operations and support functions.
• Proficiency in SAP, preferably MM/PP modules, Microsoft Office, advanced Excel, Master Data Governance, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, negotiation, prioritization, and strategic planning skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in resource management, capacity planning, business operations leadership, budget management, and long-range strategic planning.
• Experience with AI or data science foundations, 3P methodologies, continuous improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Experience using Plai or GenAI tools for data-driven decision-making.
