Senior Director, Facilities, Engineering & EHS (Biologics Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership for Facilities, Engineering, and EHS functions across a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 FTE.
• Oversee EHS programs covering environmental protection, occupational safety, biosafety, industrial hygiene, hazardous and biological waste, air emissions, permits, and sustainability.
• Ensure reliable performance of HVAC, laboratories, freezers, bioresource archives, preventive maintenance, and security systems.
• Lead capital planning, engineering projects, asset lifecycle management, system qualification, periodic reviews, and data integrity initiatives.
• Oversee start-up and commissioning of a new biologics manufacturing facility at the Manassas campus and support international expansion planning.
• Engage regulators, utilities, local government, and other external stakeholders while developing facilities, engineering, and EHS talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 18 years of experience, or equivalent experience; alternative requirements include a master’s degree with 16 years, a PhD with 11 years, or a high school diploma with 22 years.
• Progressive leadership experience in facilities management and EHS within life sciences, biopharma, R&D, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams autonomously in complex, regulated biologics research and manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NIH, CDC, and state and local regulations, with expertise in biosafety, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance.
• Proven experience managing large operations and capital budgets exceeding $25 million annually.
• Ability to work onsite in Manassas, Virginia, United States.
