Global EHS Director (Bioprocessing)

Location: Marlborough, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $150,000–$230,000 per year, plus eligibility for variable cash programs and equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Establish and lead the global EHS strategy, objectives, governance, and long-range roadmap.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the global EHS Management System aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, permits, filings, reporting, audits, inspections, and corrective actions across global locations.
• Lead risk assessment, incident investigation, root cause analysis, performance monitoring, and emergency preparedness planning.
• Develop global EHS training, engagement, contractor, and vendor compliance programs.
• Partner with executive leadership and site, Engineering, Facilities, HR, ESG, and Operations teams to strengthen EHS culture and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and international EHS regulations, with strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading global EHS management systems, audits, regulatory interactions, and programs across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Ability to travel up to 30% to global manufacturing locations and conduct site walkthroughs, inspections, and audits.
