Research & Development Dispersion Chemist (Pigment Dispersion)

What you will do

• Lead advanced dispersion development programs from concept through manufacturing implementation.
• Develop and optimize pigment dispersion formulations and processes using colloidal science, surface chemistry, rheology, and stabilization principles.
• Lead laboratory, pilot, and manufacturing-scale process development and technology transfer.
• Design hypothesis-driven experiments using design of experiments and statistical tools, then interpret complex datasets to guide technical decisions.
• Collaborate with ink formulation, analytical, manufacturing, supply chain, business, and external supplier teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor chemists, and influence decisions on materials, suppliers, technology platforms, and product development.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of industrial R&D experience in pigment, dye, or dispersion chemistry; polymers in solution; wet chemistry or ink formulation; and colloidal or interface chemistry.
• Experience leading complex research and technology development programs from concept through commercialization.
• Experience designing and analyzing multivariable formulation or process experiments using DOE and statistical tools.
• Experience leading formulation studies, technical investigations, project workstreams, technology transfer, and manufacturing scale-up.
• Strong technical leadership, ownership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and written and spoken communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with inkjet printing technology and color science.
• Hands-on experience developing aqueous dispersions, inks, coatings, paints, colorants, or other particle-stabilized formulation systems.
• Experience with intellectual property generation and patent development.
• Global technical leadership and mentoring experience.
